Adoptions
We reserve the right to deny adoption to anyone
When we place an animal for adoption, we
hope to find a home that will last a lifetime and create a loving bond between
pet and owner. You will be required to fill out an application that will
enable us to find the right pet for you. We also visit your home to ensure that
this will be a perfect fit for both you and the pet. We put a lot of love and time into our
animals, and we strive to get the best home possible for them. We
apologize in advance if our final decision disappoints you.
Why adopt from Mountains' Humane Society?
Our animals are already
spayed/neutered, are current on vaccinations and have been tested for FLA virus
(cats) and Heartworm (dogs). We ask for a $85.00 donation for dogs and a
$75 donation for cats which includes a free local Veterinarian office visit, a
folder of valuable information about your pet, a DVD to help you and your new
pet adjust, and a goodie bag of treats and toys. Our adoption donation is quite
a bargain if you add up the costs of everything we include.
During the "good weather" months, we will be having adoption days throughout our
mountain communities at which times most of our listed animals can be seen.
Please refer to our adoption dates, locations and times on the Home page of this
website, or call (909) 337-6422 for more info.

Dog:
Gracie is a 2 yr. old lab/shepherd mix. She is spayed, up to date
on her vaccines, is crate trained, house trained and has some basic
obedience training. She is great with children, but she can get excited
and jump. She gets along with other dogs. Gracie is the perfect workout
partner; she loves to go on long walks and she plays hard. She would be
better suited living with large dogs. She is a snuggle bug and is
an excellent foot warmer. If you would like more info about Gracie,
please contact us at (909) 337-6422
Dog:
Sprout is a 6 month old Brussels Griffon Terrier. He is a very happy,
loving and friendly little fellow who needs a family who will commit to
training him. He is a diamond in the rough, and he just needs some
polishing. He is extremely energetic and needs obedience training, but
he is very trainable. He
gets along with other dogs, and he gets along with cats that will stand
up to him. If the cat runs, he will chase it. If the cat puts him in his
place, then he ignores it. He is very smart and catches on
quickly...he's just easily
excitable. He is not yet 100% house trained, but he is crate trained.

Cat:
Otis is a 18 month old petite brown short haired tabby and he is
patiently waiting for a very special owner to commit to him and his
special needs. He has an allergy which requires a strict diet.
Because Otis seeks out other foods, he would be best suited for a home
with no other pets. Otis also needs an allergy injection every 6
weeks or so as well as pills. Otis is well worth the extra expense, he is extremely
lovable and affectionate, and he promises to give you his unconditional love for
the rest of his life. He is a special little guy! Please call us
if you have to heart and home for Otis. E-mail

Simba and Nala are 4 yr. old brothers looking for a new home
together. Their owners regretfully had to give them up because of
allergies. They normally have very easy going personalities, but
Simba is having a hard time adjusting to the change. They will
need lots of time, patience and love to help them adjust to a new
family. They have never been exposed to dogs, and they "tolerate" other
cats. They get along with all people and even small children. If
you want more info about these two large red-heads, please e-mail us at
mountainshumanesociety@hotmail.com

Dog:
Boss is an 8 mo. old Lab mix. He weighs 35 -40 lbs. Boss is neutered and
is current on his vaccines. Boss is housetrained and knows how to sit
and shake. He is the only dog in the home, so we are not sure how he
would be with other dogs, but he is not good with cats. He is great with
kids, but sometimes he doesn't realize his own strength. He like to run
so a fenced yard is a must. He is a great dog and protects the house.
Once he is past his puppy stage he will make a great life-long
companion. He needs someone who will be patient and give him a lot of
love and attention and basic training. Pease contact Angela at

or tables. Billy-Bob appears to be a Siamese/flame point mix. His true
age is unknown, but he is neutered and up to date on his vaccines.
